Mabel, a sister of sisters

Mabel O Mabel
Yours was a curtain drawn too soon
Like Candy the savor didn't meet the sate
Your life brief but rare
It's impactleft more a yearn
True to type you delighted while it lasted
You slaved that we all be one
A thoughtful and consummate giver
My favorite shirts gifts from your many sojourns
From earths ends they were gotten
My story predominantly our story
You gave a laugh when it was needed
A hand, a hug, an ear and a shoulder
For a need to meet
And now in a culmination you gave your life
You were the life of our parties, the hype in our moods
Youngest of the sisters yet you mothered all who'd let you
Strange how the beautiful come in trickles
While the good leave in a hurry
Little wonder the world in in a dearth
Of love, of trust and of compassion
Men gobble up men
And make bestial trade-offs under the cloak of darkness
Yet they claim a brotherhood
A quaint brotherhood to their shame
Yet there is He
Before whom ther must an account give
For He is the light from whom the Sun, the Moon and the Star
A glint took
Before Him shall shadows be cast and
Before Him shall shadows sing
In a voice loud and clear
To convict man of his actions
For unto Everyman is a shadow
Awaiting an illumination to birth
Rest on Mabel
In the presence of whom
No one can steal, kill or destroy
For this world is simply unworthy of you
