Mabel, it is soo difficult to accept and grasp the fact that you are no more. Mabel and I met during our course of study in Esut Business School , lagos campus over 10 years ago as young Women seeking to improve and advance our careers. In the course of our study she got pregnant for Fumnanya but that did not stop her from completing her studies. Thus started our life journey of an enduring friendship that has transgressed through the years and has spanned beyond us to our various families. No gathering or small party is complete in the Obis family without the presence of Mabel (our christened Nye nye re money as we all fondly called her) her troop and very soon we included her very reserved quiet and loving husband Adim who is now our brother. The Mabel we all know and will continually cherish in our memories is a deeply committed mother, a very dutiful wife , a deeply committed sister , daughter and a wonderful friend. With her as a friend you do not need so many other friends. No wonder she tried so hard to keep her sickness away from us , so that our memories of her remained very vibrant. Mabel loved the Lord and she loved life. Within a twinkle of an eye she will organise the best parties ever especially birthdays and we shall all miss your 23rd Dec gatherings òn your birthday. We shared a huge personal joke about what will happen to our red wine when she was ordained a deaconess. A duty to the Lord that she undertook with all the energy in her being and am sure if prayers could save your life the Sunday school children that you diligently served could have saved you. How do I begin to describe your generosity. You gave even when it was difficult for you to give . You gave your all, cash, gifts, sowed prayers and more in the life of all my family members. We loved uou and you loved us too. Elegant, beautiful, kind and forever giving sister, we shall miss your vibrancy, kindness and love but let me assure you on behalf of my sisters Uloma and Ngozi that we shall stay committed to your children Awele; Dwain, fumnanya and dumebi that you dotted on so much and we shall stay connected to what goes on in their lives and we hold on to Adim to keep this trust as long as God sustains our lives. "Oh death where is your sting oh grave where is your victory". Adieu Nye _ nye re Ego and rest in perfect peace in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ Fondly, Chidinma Obi on behalf of all my Siblings.
